Xu Bing

Fanscinating by Xu Bing's work - tks to Grace for helping me discover him! After seeing his work online, I came to recall that I have seen his work way back in Roppongi Hills - his transforming bird character installation art. Second recent encounter is seeing it in a client's office - surprised that they have good taste ;p. Wonder who their curator is BTW? For a small office with less than 20 staff, they have a large Asian art collection! Of course I will end my exploration with an obssession reading of his website, xubing.com, checking out all his work - apparently he started his Chn-Eng square characters more than 10 years ago!! Amazing to see the evolution of his work. Sothebys.com provided the much needed final bit of info - obv most of his work are not affordable, but I was surprised to see that some are! ;>
