One down, but one to go on?!

These are two places that I have been to in the past few years, where internal conflicts have pledged the countries and their people. In Sri Lanka, the president is saying that the Tamil Tiger leader is dead - possibly ending an era of terrorism in Sri Lanka. But on the other hand, in Burma, when Aung San Suu Kyi should have been released end of this month, a stranger who broke into her house is giving the government an excuse that Aung San is breaking the term of her house arrest. This is dashing hopes that she will be released, despite condemns by governments around the world.

End of one chaotic regime; but continuation of another?
