The Amber Fort at Jaipur was amazing. We saw the sunrise, rode the elephant to climb up to the fort. The sight, colors, music were a perfect blend.
While I like it, I reflected and cant help but wonder - maybe I like it because it is the "exotic India" that I have in mind? Dont we all like places/people when they "fit our mental image" - because only then, it "felt right to us"?
Exactly same commentary a day ago, when at one of the hotels at Agra, we saw from the bar's balcony fires on the terrain on the other side, a woman in traditional India dress dancing to local music, with Taj Mahal in the backdrop against a sunset. Isnt that the perfect India image that tourists are looking for? Hence we find it nice?
