Art journal #127: Tate Modern 2

The site tour to the new Tate Modern building was fun! All members went in full gear - hats, thick-soled shoes and all. There's so much security at every point (a big contrast to China or even HK). Basically the new site is made up of three sunken oil tanks (extension of the power plant structure that is now the iconic Tate building) that will be converted into new exhibition spaces - speaking to amphitheatre shapes rather than the 'well accepted' white cube angled wall structures. A Herzog project.

Looking forward to Venice Biennale in just a few weeks' time. And then Tokyo in Sep, and then LA in Nov - rapidly realising that this is a very full year of art program!
