Art journal #129: Wedding

Such a wonderful event! We are no Chanel LV Dior crowd, and thats what set it apart. Its a closely knitted group where everyone enjoy being with each other. Felt like a family indeed. Perhaps the HK artist group has some analogy to the mainland China contemp art community in the 80s - where there's less resource, fewer auctions, and more genuine art?

Its a real privilege to see the whole art production process from inside out. The 'theatrical performance' brought together videos, sound installations and performances. Ming Wong stole the limelight - simply amazing! Hans Ulrich kicked off sharing the connection he see between marriage, art history and Duchamp, followed by Lin Yue's poems, Cao Fei's Live in RMB City video, Yana's book auction, ...etc. The board's own karaoke performance seems to be very well received too - ! A fantastic DJ played music late into the night (1am) drawing many to the dancefloor.

There were many chaotic moments (me as the 'moderator' had a few fruitless shout outs to get the crowd ready for the next performance) - but thats only true to how weddings are really like!

An evening to remember; history in the making! Really look forward to the
'record' - the video, catalog, and coverage.
