Exhausted...

Overwhelmed by work lately. The days just run on from 730am to often 2am. So what are our daily activities, really - are they nuisance and "noise" to an otherwise simple living, or the real stuff that make up the the tempo of life? Alain de Botton said modern people are very much type-casted by their jobs. It's one of first things you ask people when you meet someone for the first time, it's how you introduce yourself, it's often how you define yourself as a person, and it's certainly where you (I) spend over 50% of your waking hours. So what should one's expectation of work be? Is it a 8-hour daily exercise that gets money in the bank for you so you can do other things in the remaining 16 hours, or it's your hobby, your passion, or it ought to be something else? When is too much too much?
