Had admittedly low expectations going into the HK stop of the tour, not that I dont like Faye, as I am her biggest fan - first, have seen the BJ tour already so have seen the stage, etc.; second, heard that she's forgetting her Canto lyrics - and she's indeed typically better with Mandarin versions. But it was a pleasant surprise throughout; the song list has a generous share of Canto songs that clearly pleased the crowd, and the songs brought back memories that I cant quite put my fingers to - but nonetheless, evoked strong emotions. Those were the good old times? Around high school, beginning of univ. When my family just moved to Canada. When I just moved to the UK. Faye was "with our family", in a period of change, in many ways, I guess. Perhaps encapsulate how we miss HK back then? I still remember playing her songs all the time in the car when we drove in Vancouver. Her songs were the few that my parents would recognize.
I am glad my sister went with me tonight, together with other good friends. Its an evening of memories for us.
