There's a whole line of outdoor Satay stores. The taxi driver, knowing where I am going, already volunteered information and told me #8 and #10 are the best - but I can only find #8 so I went for that. There's actually a lot of aggressive waving waitresses...I am quite afraid of hard-selling and I just kept my head down to walk to #8. The man there kept yelling "Best Satay, look at all the awards we won". So I sat down. I later found out that the name of their store is called "Best Satay" (....)
But the satays did taste great! The mutton ones are the best - which typically are not, since mutton if not done well is tough. Beef is great too. Chicken usually the best in other satay places, but for this store, mutton/beef beat chicken hands-down!! The sauce is nutty, sweet and good (I like it that way).
But the satay store didnt sell drinks. You have to go to a "Kopitan" (which is called just that on the sign) to get that. Got a milk-tea - with tons of condensed milk in it - must be like 400 KCal, that drink! Even for someone who like sweet stuff, it's too sweet for me. Had to get a Coke later instead to go with my food.
So this is the real deal! After this, no more bad satays in hotels...

Yes, Mutton satay is the best. That's what Onny made if he gets a chance. I miss Kopitiam a lot, like Teh-O. I've to admit food is very good in Singapore.
I was there but it was too hot to sit down n eat! Ok will try again next time
